Businesses operating within the jurisdiction of the local council must obtain a license from their owners. It is valid for one year and must be renewed annually. Trading without a trading license is an offense punishable by law. The head of the local government has full legal powers to issue business licenses. The fees related to each business are clearly published in the gazette issued by the local council annually.
During the granting of trade licenses, the revenue inspector of the local council and in cases of food related trade, the public health inspector will also check the nature of the trade and issue trade licenses.
