TRADE TAX
Those owners must pay business tax to the local government on the businesses run in the local government area.
Those businesses will be identified through the survey conducted in the previous year and the business tax notice will be notified to the relevant person by the local council.
Issuance of tax notice to identified business owners by March 31.
Payment of tax within 7 days of receipt of tax notification.
Online mode or visit the office and collect the payment receipt.
Issuance of reminder in case of non-payment of tax.
Filing of cases in Magistrate’s Court in case of non-payment of tax after reminder.
Appear in court on a date notified by the court registrar.
Issuance of orders by the Magistrate on that day to levy the amount to be recovered as fine.
Payment and receipt of fines to a designated officer under the supervision of the Revenue Inspector.
