A permit issued by the local council should be obtained for the transportation of felled wood within the jurisdiction of the local council.
This permit is obtained to repair any damage to the roads owned by the local council. There, the Technical Officer of the local council will check the route and determine a fee. After paying the decided amount to the local council, the permit will be issued. After the transport the roads are re-inspected by the Technical Officer and if the roads are not damaged
You will deduct 20% of the amount paid to the local council and release the balance to you.
If there is any damage to the roads, you will be advised to repair the roads as per the recommendation of the technical officer and if you do not carry out the repairs, the amount paid by you will be held by the council.
Transporting timber without a permit is a punishable offense and may result in confiscation of your timber and other property used in the transport.
